About Pool Super Vision

Gary Johnson is the creator of Pool Super Vision™.

After 20 working at and over seeing the operations of public swimming facilities he formed See Clearly Now; a company dedicated to the safer operation of public swimming facilities.

See Clearly Now delivers the award winning Pool Super Vison suite of programs, risk management consulting services, independent incident investigation and Royal Life Saving Society of Australia’s strand of aquatic training courses.

Gary began his water safety career in 1986 as a surf life saver in Sydney, holding various positions ranging from Patrol Captain to Club Captain. He also spent time on an Offshore Rescue Boat during that period.

Gary’s experience with emergency planning, training and response then benefited from two decades as a Pool Lifeguard, time as a Rescue Crewman with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter (New England Northwest) and a soldier in the Australian Army Reserve (Royal Australian Armoured Corps).

In 2001, whilst working at a lifeguard, Gary went through the experience of losing a swimmer. A 2 year old boy was recovered from the pool but couldn’t be revived. That day, the funeral and the ensuing Coroner’s Inquest became the catalyst for Pool Super Vision™.

Pool Super Vision continues to be developed utilising the lessons learnt that day, and now the experiences of other Pool Lifeguards around the world.

‘Prevent drowning and prepare for drowning; do everything in your power to prevent it and then prepare your team like it’s inevitable’. – Gary Johnson
